EL ARISH – The authorities concerned in el Hosna city in central Sinai urged people to exercise caution in anticipation of an expected unstable weather wave Saturday.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority warned of rapid and sharp weather fluctuations that started in most parts of the country over Friday and until Saturday.
In a statement, the public relations and media section of the El Hosna city in North Sinai said all citizens should remain cautious to stay safe.
Governor Mohamed Abdel Fadil Shousha had decided to raise readiness level in all bodies and facilities in the governorate to face unstable weather conditions.
Egypt is seeing a drop in temperatures on Saturday and thunderstorms over the weekend, the EMA said in its daily weather forecast.
The EMA expected a 60-70 percent chance for moderate to heavy rains with thunder in areas of the northwestern coasts and Western Desert on Friday.
Rain is expected also to extend during night to areas in Lower Egypt and Greater Cairo today.
On Saturday, there is a 60-70 percent chance for moderate to heavy rains with thunder are also expected in the northern coasts, Lower Egypt, Suez Canal cities, and northern Red Sea.
According to the EMA, rains will probably extend to areas of Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt and floods may hit Sinai.
