Governor of South Sinai Khaled Fouda followed up progress on the Sharm el-Sheikh-Dahab Bridge.
The bridge is part of an upgrade of the 21-kilometre Sharm el-Sheikh Ring Road as per directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
During his tour, Fouda spoke with engineers, technicians and workers on site and praised their efforts.
The governor instructed officials concerned to finish the project according to the highest international standards and regulations and on schedule.
Fouda also appreciated the role of Armed Forces Engineering Authority and the companies working on this project. The bridge includes services and pedestrian footpaths.
Fouda also visited the Heavenly Cathedral in Sharm el-Sheikh to promote the spirit of love, brotherhood and co-operation between Muslims and Christians.
The governor agreed to the construction of churches in Nabq Protected Area, Dahab and el-Tur.
During the meeting, Fouda proposed the building of a large mosque in Nuweiba, close to the new church there in affirmation of national unity between Islam and Christianity.
