General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) Chairman Walid Gamal el Din asserted on Wednesday the SCZONE keenness on supporting Chinese Industrial Zone (TEDA) investments in the region through providing infrastructure and human capabilities.
This came during TEDA celebration marking the 15th anniversary of the strategic cooperation with the SCZONE. The celebration is held under the title “Advancement and common gains: Enhancing strategic activates”.
Gamal el Din also mentioned the increase of the number of Chinese companies working in the zone which attracted, in the past 15 years, investments at a total of USD 1.6 billion, adding that about 140 companies are working in the zone, providing more than 5,000 job opportunities.
He pointed out to the government’s support to TEDA zone that reflects the Egyptian-Chinese cooperation within the distinguished relation between the leaders of the two countries and their strategic partnership.
The celebration was also attended by a number of Chinese and Egyptian officials and representatives of companies and banks working in TEDA zone.
