The General Book Authority is making the necessary preparations for the 52nd edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, the nation’s largest cultural event that will start on June 30 and last until July 15.
Publishing houses participating in the fair have already started arriving at the International Conference and Fair Grounds in Nasr City ahead of the official inauguration of the cultural event.
Book Authority Chairman, Haitham el-Hajj, who supervises the fair organisation, made a tour of different sections of the fair yesterday to ensure that precautionary measures were taken in preparations for the event.
The measures include distancing the different booths and the distribution of printouts of precautionary measures that have to be observed inside the different sections of the fair.
This year’s fair will include 756 booths inside. Over 823 publishers and publishing houses from 25 countries, including seven African states, will participate in the event.
