CAIRO – Egyptian Local Development Minister Manal Awad has discussed with Housing Minister Sherief El Sherbieny arrangements for hosting the 12th edition of the World Urban Forum (WUF12).
The ministers had a meeting on Thursday to follow up on preparations for Cairo’s hosting of the event, which will be held to be held on November 4-8 in cooperation with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).
They discussed joint coordination efforts exerted by the two ministries to help host the event successfully.
The event is set to focus on promoting the local aspects in implementing the sustainable development goals.
The meeting also tackled the implementation of a number of co-operation project in the fields of sanitation
and potable water implemented in the rural areas in the governorates.
