An Egyptian C-130 medically-equipped aircraft left from the East Cairo Air Base for the Benina military base, in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi, to transport dozens of the injured in a fuel truck explosion.
The victims of the explosion will receive medical treatment at Cairo’s El Helmeya Military Hospital for Bones and Overlay.
The initiative comes upon the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and as part of Egypt’s solidarity with the Libyan people, following the explosion of the fuel truck in the Bent Bayya town.
The medical evacuation of the victims is part of Egypt’s pivotal role, and in support for the efforts exerted by the Libyan state to counter the crises it is facing. The Armed Forces General Command wished the injured a speedy recovery.
