Egypt’s Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk stressed the need to strengthen the resilience and innovation capacity of developing economies to advance inclusive and sustainable development.
Speaking at a meeting of BRICS finance ministers and central bank governors in India on Wednesday, Kouchouk said developing countries must have a stronger voice in shaping a fairer and more inclusive international financial architecture.
He said Egypt seeks a global financial system that better responds to the growth and development priorities of emerging economies.
He stressed the importance of strengthening the role of multilateral development banks in providing low-cost financing to help developing countries manage risks.
Kouchouk also called for integrating digital systems and artificial intelligence into structural reforms aimed at developing human capital and enhancing productivity and competitiveness.
He highlighted the need to strengthen trade and investment ties among Global South countries to help mitigate the impact of economic and geopolitical volatility.
