Justice Minister Mahmoud Helmy El-Sherif has underlined the roles of the Administrative Prosecution Authority and the State Lawsuits Authority in safeguarding public funds and combating corruption.
He was speaking at two swearing-in ceremonies, held on Tuesday at the Ministry of Justice headquarters in the New Capital, for newly appointed assistant administrative prosecutors at the Administrative Prosecution Authority and newly appointed assistant delegates at the State Lawsuits Authority.
Administrative Prosecution Authority
At the first ceremony, for the assistant administrative prosecutors, El-Sherif said: “The Administrative Prosecution Authority has, throughout its history, shouldered a noble national responsibility to combat financial and administrative corruption, protect public funds, and safeguard the integrity of performance within state institutions.”
He also stressed the ministry’s commitment, in coordination with the authority’s president, to providing full support to the new appointees. This, he noted, aligns with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to continuously enhance the competence of members of judicial bodies and authorities, and to guarantee all necessary requirements for their independence.
Huda Ahmed Mohamed Eissa, president of the Administrative Prosecution Authority, told the same event: “The Administrative Prosecution Authority fulfils a noble national and judicial mission centred on combating corruption, safeguarding public funds, upholding the rule of law, and protecting citizens’ rights.”
“Investing in the development of the authority’s young professionals is an investment in the future of justice itself,” she added.
State Lawsuits Authority
At the second ceremony, the minister said: “The State Lawsuits Authority is a venerable judicial body that, throughout its long history, has shouldered a profound national responsibility: representing the state and defending its interests before courts and arbitration tribunals, both at home and abroad.”
El-Sherif also underscored the authority’s role in providing technical oversight for the legal affairs departments within the state’s administrative bodies, noting that this helps safeguard public funds and protect the nation’s assets.
For his part, Abdel Nasser Abu El-Azm, president of the State Lawsuits Authority, stressed the major responsibility of the newly appointed assistant delegates to contribute to defending the nation’s assets throughout their careers, acting as guardians of legitimacy and an impenetrable bulwark for safeguarding the state’s rights.
