Egyptian Irrigation Minister Hany Swailam said on Tuesday that all affiliated bodies are placed on high alert to secure enough water during the peak-of-need period.
Swailam, during a meeting with senior officials at his Ministry, followed up on the situation of the water system and the degree of readiness of canals, drains and lifting stations in all the governorates.
The meeting also took up the implementation of a plan to purge canals in the governorates.
