Egypt’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sewilam issued his directives to his ministry’s officials to update procedures of the National Water Resources Plan to incorporate the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030 as part of the goals of the National Plan 2050.
During a meeting held Wednesday by the Minister of Irrigation with a number of the ministry’s leaders to discuss procedures for reviewing and developing the national water resources plan to extend until the year 2050 – in line with the state plan and Egypt’s 2030 vision – the minister said the new vision mainly envisages including the dimensions of non-conventional water usage, especially water reuse and desalination, as well as developing a water system.
The meeting took up an evaluation for following up on the implementation of the plan’s procedures and reviewing projects’ work pace to determine progress of the plan’s success indicators.
The Minister directed that the principles of water governance be introduced in the axes of the national plan to improve institutional performance, achieve the principles of accountability, transparency, justice and integrity, with a view to improving the level of services
