Egypt’s Water and Resources Minister Hani Sewilam stressed the importance of intensifying national efforts in climate change adaptation.
This is also vital to provide the necessary funds to implement projects, which contribute to attaining such goal, he said during his meeting with Australian Ambassador to Egypt Axel Wabenhorst.
The minister reiterated the pressing need to move now from international pledges to actual implementation on the ground.
The meeting further tackled climate change issues and their impact on the various world countries, including Egypt and Australia, said the minister.
The ministry is keen on promoting cooperation with the Australian side in the natural resources sphere, especially in light of the challenges besetting the two countries in the water sphere, added Sewilam.
The ambassador, for his part, said his country is keen on promoting future cooperation with Egypt.
