Egyptian Irrigational Minister Hani Suweilam asserted on Tuesday the importance of the role of the National Water Research Center (NWRC) as the research machinery of the Ministry of Irrigation to put accredited solutions for scientific research and innovation in addition to preparing research studies to face water challenges in Egypt.
Suweilam pointed out to the keenness on providing all kinds of support to the center to improve its research and human potentials and logistics in addition to providing training necessary for the research cadres.
This came during Suweilam’s meeting with Head of the NWRC Rasha el Kholi and other water officials to follow up the current efforts and future vision to develop the system of research work in the centre.
The meeting reviewed the mechanisms of implementing a research plan of the center and coordination between the research institutes, authorities, bodies and sectors of the ministry to stand on their research needs to face the water challenges.
The meeting also tackled the cooperation efforts between the center and several international research centers and bodies in addition to the role of the bureau of financing researches and projects in the center.
Suweilam highlighted the necessity of putting a long-term vision on scientific bases to deal with future challenges.
