Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid conducted an inspection tour of Damietta Governorate on Tuesday to follow up on ongoing development projects and review industrial and export activities.
As part of the “Egypt Exports” initiative, Farid visited DNM textile factory, where he reviewed the company’s production operations and expansion and export plans.
The company was established in 2010 with $10 million in capital and is fully owned by Turkish investors, its chairman said. Total investment in the project has reached roughly $141 million.
The factory covers 150,000 square metres and employs around 1,327 workers. It produces yarn, textiles and dyed fabrics, with 80 per cent of its output exported.
The company also manufactures ready-made garments using fabrics produced at the factory or imported for finishing and dyeing. All garment production is exported, while annual production capacity stands at approximately 45 million metres.
According to the chairman, the company’s exports totalled $127.6 million in 2022, $116.9 million in 2023, $120 million in 2024 and around $118 million in 2025.
Farid toured the production lines and reviewed manufacturing and dyeing operations. He stressed the importance of expanding production, increasing value-added output and strengthening access to international markets to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products and exports.
He also reviewed the company’s plans to expand production capacity and boost its export capabilities.
