As part of the state’s commitment to help Egyptian citizens abroad and its efforts to improve services for them, Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdel-Aati held a coordination meeting attended by the Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hendi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abdel Aziz Konsowa, and representatives of the Ministries of Defence, Interior, Finance, Housing, and the Central Bank of Egypt.

The meeting discussed issues affecting Egyptians abroad and ways to improve service offered to them.

Participants exchanged views on facilitating services and strengthening engagement with Egyptians overseas.

Key topics included customs procedures for mobile phones and vehicles, the recognition of academic certificates for children of Egyptians abroad, and flexible admission rates for Egyptian students in foreign education institutions. This is in addition to the digitisation of consular services, including document issuance, banking updates, and legal support. The meeting discussed various initiatives to strengthen Egyptians’ connection to their homeland.

Other concerns addressed included military conscription and overseas secondments of government employees.

Ministers and representatives agreed to study incentives and measures to ease bureaucratic procedures and support Egyptian communities abroad.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to ongoing coordination to develop practical solutions that enhance services for Egyptians abroad and reinforce their ties to Egypt.
