ALEXANDRIA – Indonesian Ambassador in Cairo Lotfi Raouf said on Wednesday his country comes at the 55th place in terms of countries investing their money in Egypt with total investments exceeding 100 million dollars.
Egyptian-Indonesian relations are deeply-rooted, the diplomat told officials at the Chamber of Commerce in Alexandria, citing hundreds of Indonesian students who come every year to Egypt to study at Al Azhar University.
He said the first Egyptian president who visited Indonesia was Gamal Abdel Nasser and that Egypt was among the earliest countries that recognized Indonesia’s independence.
He underlined the importance of continuing to develop relations between the two countries, especially in the economic and cultural domains.
