CAIRO – It is projected that the world’s population will continue to grow and will reach nearly 10 billion by 2050, which means that demands on food will increase by 56%, said the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Centre (IDSC).
It is essential to find innovative ways to provide food and come up with other alternatives that may be unfamiliar to some at the current time, according to a video published by the IDSC under the rubric “Will food types change in the future?”.
The video also shed light on the future of food in the world, especially in light of the climate crises, the Covid-19 pandemic, growing population as well as the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The video, meanwhile, also said that the plant-based protein alternatives are a rising trend in the world.
The edible Insects Market is expected to reach $9.60 billion by 2030, the IDSC’s video said.
