CAIRO- Egyptian Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafi el Gebali asserted that the tragic train crash in Sohag Governorate proved the cohesion and authenticity of Egyptians especially in Upper Egypt as they rushed to hospitals to donate their blood to rescue those injured in the accident.

Addressing the parliament’s general session on Sunday, Gebali said the House’s specialized committees, especially the transport and communication, have been following up the developments of the train accident and the outcome of the investigations launched by the public prosecution.

He said the parliament will closely monitor the situation following the announcement of the investigation results.

Gebali also praised the swift moves by all state bodies in handling such tragedy, highlighting President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to present all kinds of support to the victims of the accident.
