The Egyptian House of Representatives approved during a session Monday under Speaker Hanafi Gebali a number of draft laws presented by the government to amend some articles of the law of monopoly practices prevention issued in Law no. 3 of 2005.
The House had referred during a session on December 2020 the amended law to the economic affairs committee.
The new law would protect the markets from monopolies and promote the control of the state on markets a matter that benefits the consumers and facilitates the inflow of local and international investments.
