Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny directed all entities operating at Cairo International Airport to intensify coordination and expedite passenger processing during current peak periods, while maintaining full compliance with regulations and the highest standards of efficiency.
El-Hefny made the remarks during a field inspection tour of Cairo International Airport to monitor service levels, operational readiness, passenger-flow procedures and coordination among the various operating entities.
The minister was accompanied by Ayman Fawzy Arab, Chairman of the Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, Magdy Ishaq, Chairman of Cairo Airport Company, Mohamed Sami, Assistant Chairman of Cairo Airport Company for Passenger Terminals and Quality, and other civil aviation officials.
During the inspection tour, El-Hefny reviewed customs inspection procedures, mechanisms for handling arriving passengers and arrangements for completing required formalities.
He stressed the importance of close coordination between airport teams and customs authorities affiliated with the Ministry of Finance, particularly amid increasing arrival numbers, calling for integrated roles, swift passenger processing and full adherence to applicable rules.
The minister praised customs officials for their disciplined and responsible performance, stressing that the speed and accuracy of procedures are essential to improving the passenger experience, particularly amid increasing operational density.
He underscored Cairo International Airport’s role as Egypt’s main gateway for arrivals from around the world, stressing that smooth operations, streamlined procedures and efficient passenger flows are fundamental to service quality.
He directed all stakeholders to identify and promptly resolve operational challenges while maintaining efficiency.
