CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said the Health Ministry received 1.501 million doses of Pfizer vaccines presented by the US government via COVAX mechanism in co-operation with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI).
This shipment comes as part of the state’s plan to vary and expand providing the anti-coronavirus vaccine to maintain the gains of the Egyptian state to stand against coronavirus.
Pfizer is approved by the World Health Organisation and the Egyptian Drug Authority, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said.
The shipment was distributed on the vaccination centers all over Egypt, he said, adding that Egypt was able to provide the vaccines in small period of time.
