CAIRO – Egyptian Health and Population Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar ordered Wednesday to enhance monitoring of blood banks to ensure high standards of quality and safety.
A statement by the Health Ministry said that the minister chaired a meeting of the council of blood monitoring operations to discuss frameworks for work mechanisms regarding regulating blood operations and collecting plasma for manufacturing in the ministry’s premises in the New Administrative Capital (NAC).
Spokesman for the Health and Population Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the minister directed to accelerate the automation of blood banks to connect them with a unified e-system to establish a national database of Blood Donors.
The move is part of the Egyptian State’s action plan to apply digital transition in this vital sector, the spokesman added.
