CAIRO – Hayah Karima Foundation signed on Sunday a co-operation protocol with the British University in Egypt (BUE) to share expertise in joint local development projects.
The deal also seeks to promote the university’s engagement in community service by investing in rural resources, while working for fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As per the protocol, the two sides will cooperate for planning and executing projects and initiatives that serve the goals of the presidential “Decent Life” rural development projects, such as organizing medical convoys that cover several specialties, including dentistry, nursing, mental health, and public health, the foundation said in a statement.
The BUE is the first private university in Egypt to enter into such a protocol with the foundation, which will also make use of the university’s resources and capabilities, including its faculties and specialized research centers, to provide community development services that help achieve the goals of Egypt Vision 2030.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the BUE Farida Khamis, President of the University Mohamed Lotfy, and Chairman of Hayah Karima Foundation’s Board of Trustees Aya Omar Al-Qamari attended the signing ceremony.
