Alamein International Airport has welcomed Gulf Air’s inaugural flight, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, carrying 118 passengers. The launch of the new route marks another step towards strengthening air connectivity and supporting travel between Egypt and the Gulf region.
The addition of Gulf Air to the list of airlines operating through El Alamein International Airport reflects growing confidence in Egypt’s tourism destination and the airport’s expanding international route network.
The new service is expected to boost air traffic and attract more visitors during the summer season.
Celebrating the arrival of the inaugural flight, the public relations team of the Egyptian Airports Company organised a special reception for the aircraft and its passengers. The aircraft was welcomed with the traditional water cannon salute, while passengers were greeted with flowers, reflecting the warm hospitality offered at the company’s airports.
Meanwhile, the airport’s operational teams ensured smooth and efficient arrival procedures, demonstrating the airport’s readiness, operational efficiency and ability to accommodate increasing air traffic in line with the highest standards of quality and service.
Gulf Air is scheduled to operate two weekly flights to Alamein International Airport until the end of September 2026, helping to expand the airport’s air connectivity and support inbound tourism.
Alamein International Airport continues to boost its position as one of Egypt’s promising aviation and tourism hubs, benefiting from its strategic location and the growing popularity of the destination, while expanding its air links with regional and international markets.
