CAIRO – Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh asserted that his visit to Egypt reflected how far the two countries are bound by sisterly and deeply-rooted strategic ties on all fronts.
At a joint press conference with president Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Guelleh said his presence in Egypt after the historic visit of his Egyptian counterpart in Djibouti reflected how strong are the ties binding the two countries on all fronts, adding that the visit comes within the framework of the joint keenness and strong political will to push forward their relations.
He also reiterated that the two sides are keen on continuing their consultations and cooperation regarding a number of regional and international issues of common interest.
Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh described his talks with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as “fruitful and constructive”.
Talks between the two sides took up ways of enhancing bilateral ties at all levels as well as exchanging viewpoints toward a host of issues of mutual concern, he said.
He further said that he agreed with President Sisi on opening new horizons for cooperation between the two countries that are not only limited to economic, investment and health domains, but also encompassing security, transportation, infrastructure and capacity building.
“We both agreed as well on the importance of boosting cooperation to establish security and stability in the region and working to attain joint interests and promote our integration,” he added.
Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh congratulated Egypt on being selected to host the UN Climate Change Conference COP27 in November.
This reflects Egypt’s efforts in preserving the environment and facing the impacts of climate change locally and globally, he added during a press conference held with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
He voiced happiness for visiting Egypt and extended thanks to the Egyptian leadership for the warm reception and kind hospitality he received during his visit.
Guelleh also voiced keenness on boosting cooperation in a way that fulfills the ambitions and aspirations of the peoples of Egypt and Djibouti.
