Gov’t to complete studies on benefiting from latest sea water desalination tech

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has called for completing all necessary studies to ensure the effective application of advanced water desalination technology in Egypt especially in view of the country’s diverse potentials of relevance including its vast and deep coasts overlooking the Red and Mediterranean Seas.

The president’s remarks came during his meeting on Sunday with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Cabinet ministers of water resources and housing and some top officials, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.

The meeting was devoted to a consideration of the prospects of benefiting from the latest technological systems for seawater desalination.

The consideration included a review of all details of this new technology, especially in terms of economic feasibility, water quantity and quality, production capacity and electricity consumption, Spokesman Radi said.

This comes within the framework of the state’s efforts to promote good management of water resources and the use of the latest achievements of science regarding water desalination and water treatment.

The President was then briefed on the executive position of projects affiliated carried out by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, especially the New Administrative Capital.

Also reviewed during the meeting were some projects now underway in the Suez Governorate, as well as some special projects in Suez Governorate, especially in the fields of housing and developing new urban communities.
