The Cabinet’s media center dismissed reports Wednesday on cutting rare tress in Aquarium Grotto Garden (Genenit El Asmak) in Zamalek area in Cairo.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the center said it contacted the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation over the matter and it categorically denied the news as baseless.
The ministry said there is no intention to cut any of the tress or rare species of plants in the garden, adding that the garden is undergoing maintenance operations, including trimming of trees and plants using a scientific approach that would guarantee preserving their shape and nature, as well as the traditional image of the garden, said the statement.
It further urged the public and social media users to verify the authenticity of the news before publishing them, it added.
