Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid and Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk affirmed that ports and customs outlets across Egypt are operating at full capacity throughout the week to ensure the uninterrupted flow of foreign trade.
In a joint press statement on Friday, the ministers emphasised their commitment to maintaining operational efficiency at ports and customs facilities, while adhering to energy rationalisation measures in light of current exceptional circumstances.
They noted that efforts are underway to reduce handling and storage costs, with the aim of alleviating financial pressures on the business community.
The two ministers also highlighted ongoing initiatives to enhance the competitiveness of the national economy and strengthen the appeal of export-oriented industrial investment. They stressed the importance of close coordination among all relevant entities and continuous, round-the-clock operations to accelerate export procedures.
They further confirmed that import inspections will continue daily until 6:00 pm to ensure swift customs clearance and facilitate trade movement. In addition, electronic payment of fees has been made available, alongside the provision of all banking services related to customs operations on a 24/7 basis.
