CAIRO – The Egyptian Cabinet’s media center denied the reports circulated about a halt in implementing the national project to develop villages in the Upper Egyptian governorate of Aswan as part of the “Decent Life” Presidential Initiative.
In a statement released on Friday, the center said it has contacted the Ministry of Local Development which dismissed such reports, stressing that work is ongoing on the project in Aswan as per the scheduled timeline.
The national project to develop villages in Aswan includes 1,106 projects registered in the initiative at a total cost of EGP 21.5 billion so far, the ministry noted.
In this regard, the Cabinet’s media center urged media outlets and social media users to verify the authenticity of any news before publishing such baseless information.
