Gov’t denies decision banning Eidul Adha prayers in mosques

The media center of the cabinet denied news reports about issuing a decision to ban performing Eidul Adha prayers in large mosques and outdoor spaces and squares.

In a statement Wednesday, the center said it communicated with the Awqaf Ministry which refuted the reports as baseless.

No decisions were issued in this regard, the ministry said, adding mosques across the country will be allowed to open their doors for performing Eid prayers.

Areas designated for women in large mosques nationwide will be open as well, the ministry stressed.

Children will be allowed to attend the prayer to bring cheer and joy to them, the ministry added.

The center urged media outlets to verify the authenticity of reports to avoid disrupting public order.
