Egyptian Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fostering trust, partnership, and support within the tax community for the nation’s interests.

During an open dialogue on Wednesday with leaders and executives of tax offices across the country, Minister Kouchouk underscored the importance of delivering fair and incentivising tax services to all stakeholders.

He expressed his strong confidence in their ability to drive continuous development and improve the tax system. The minister also highlighted the effective implementation of tax concessions as a crucial step toward strengthening trust with the business community.

Addressing employees of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), Minister Kouchouk stated, “I will be with you in all centres and offices to help overcome any challenges on the ground.” He reiterated the ministry’s commitment to investing in human resources to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the tax system.

“The Ministry of Finance remains dedicated to advancing tax policies that promote compliance, facilitate economic growth, and enhance public trust in the tax administration system,” he added.

Deputy Minister for Tax Policy Sherif el-Kilani noted that the ETA is undergoing a positive transformation. He attributed this shift to the introduction of the first package of tax concessions, which has fostered optimism among businesses.

Assistant Minister for Tax Policy Ramy Youssef highlighted the opportunity to develop a globally competitive tax system, emphasising efforts to enhance employee capabilities by leveraging international expertise.

Rasha Abdel Aal, Head of the ETA, stressed the importance of building a tax system based on strong partnerships with both existing and new taxpayers.

Adel Abdel Fadil, Chairman of parliament’s Manpower Committee, commended Minister Kouchouk for his hands-on approach in engaging with all levels of the Tax Authority. He stressed that such direct involvement will drive meaningful development, foster trust, and create a more transparent and efficient tax system.
