Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Mohamed Awad held talks on Wednesday with a delegation from DP World to discuss the company’s expansion plans in Egypt.
The meeting focused on DP World’s strategy to expand its investments in the local market, in light of Egypt’s competitive advantages, strategic geographic location, and advanced infrastructure linking regional and international markets.
The two sides reviewed a number of promising investment opportunities that complement the company’s expansion strategy, particularly in logistics, warehousing and distribution centres, integrated logistics services, and supply chain development.
Awad reaffirmed GAFI’s commitment to maintaining continuous engagement with international companies operating in Egypt, understanding their future investment plans, and providing the institutional support needed to facilitate their expansion in coordination with relevant government entities.
He stressed that Egypt is seeking to attract more high-value investments that enhance the efficiency of the country’s transport and logistics ecosystem.
DP World representatives outlined the group’s growing operations in Egypt, describing the country as one of its most strategic markets in the Middle East and North Africa.
