Chairman of Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) Islam Azzam and Executive Director of the National Training Academy (NTA) Solafa El Goueli discussed ways to strengthen co-operation on financial literacy and capacity-building initiatives during a meeting on Sunday.

The discussions formed part of the FRA’s strategy to enhance public awareness and develop professional competencies across the non-banking financial sector.

Azzam praised the NTA’s national role in advancing institutional development in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, highlighting its contribution to improving the efficiency and performance of state institutions.

He also reviewed the FRA’s ongoing efforts to build the capabilities of professionals working in non-banking financial activities.

Azzam reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to expanding financial education by combining theoretical and practical learning for students and young people. He highlighted the FRA’s recent cooperation with the Ministry of Education to introduce non-banking financial literacy into the second-year secondary school curriculum.

He also outlined the FRA’s initiatives to promote innovation and accelerate the adoption of financial technology (FinTech) and artificial intelligence (AI) in developing new financial services.

For her part, El Goueli outlined the NTA’s pivotal role in strengthening human and institutional capacities to enhance organisational performance. She reviewed the academy’s strategic objectives and its range of training programmes aimed at developing Egypt’s public administration.
