CAIRO – Egyptian Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad asserted Monday that Egypt has developed a clear national strategy for facing climate changes.
The state is implementing the strategy in co-operation with all bodies concerned, added Fouad in remarks during the general session of the House of Representatives.
The session probed several questions submitted by a number of MPs concerning climate change issues and problems.
Fouad affirmed Egypt remains committed along with world countries to implementing the plan aimed at overcoming climate changes in accordance with the Paris agreement on climate change.
She pointed out the national council for facing climate changes was established in 2019 to lay down the strategy as per directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The strategy does not involve the Environment Ministry only, but rather the government, the private sector, civil society, women, youth and the parliament, according to her.
