BERLIN – Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry called on members of the Munich Group (Egypt, Jordan, France and Germany) to proactively work on containing the situation in the Gaza Strip, amid the ongoing Israeli escalation against the Palestinian people.
Shoukry’s call came during a joint press conference here with the Munich Group’s foreign ministers.
The foreign minister said international actors, including members of the Munich Group, should proactively work on containing the situation in the Gaza Strip to avert a large-scale regional confrontation that is difficult to control.
Shoukry extended thanks to the German government for convening this important meeting, as the Munich Group seeks to exchange views on the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the challenges to reviving the Middle East peace process.
