Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati reaffirmed the country’s unwavering position on the Palestinian cause during a ministerial meeting held on Saturday on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

The meeting brought together Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

During the talks, Abdel-Aati stressed the importance of fully implementing the second phase of the plan proposed by Donald Trump, while ensuring the unimpeded flow of humanitarian, relief, and medical assistance to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

He also stressed the need for the national committee tasked with administering the Gaza Strip to begin operating from within the territory, enhancing its capacity to manage daily affairs, as a prelude to the full return of the Palestinian Authority. In addition, he called for the swift deployment of an international stabilisation force to help establish a secure environment conducive to the transitional phase.

Addressing developments in the West Bank, Abdel-Aati condemned the escalation of settler violence, ongoing annexation policies, and continued settlement expansion in violation of international law. He denounced the Israeli Knesset’s approval of legislation concerning the execution of prisoners, as well as repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, warning that such actions risk further inflaming tensions in the occupied territories.

The foreign ministers agreed on the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultation in the coming period to support the Palestinian cause, reaffirming their commitment to joint action aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region.
