Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel-Aati affirmed Egypt’s full support for all measures taken by Kuwait to safeguard its security and protect its national interests.
This came during a phone call Abdel-Aati received from Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah late on Thursday.
The call addressed the rapidly evolving developments in the region, during which Abdel-Aati reiterated Egypt’s full solidarity with Kuwait and other Gulf Co-operation Council states, stressing Egypt’s firm position that the security and stability of Gulf countries are an integral part of Egypt’s national security.
The two ministers exchanged views on regional developments and ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions, with Abdel-Aati stressed the importance of supporting the negotiation track and reaffirming that dialogue and diplomatic solutions remain the only viable path to containing the current crisis.
At the conclusion of the call, both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultation between the two brotherly countries on various regional challenges, and continuing joint efforts to support security and stability in the region.
