Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptians Abroad Badr Abdel-Aaty held a phone call on Wednesday with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi to offer Egypt’s condolences following a passenger bus accident on the Dahab-Nuweiba road in South Sinai.
The accident resulted in a number of deaths and injuries.
During the call, Abdel-Aaty conveyed the sincere condolences of the Egyptian government and people to Jordan and the families of the victims, stressing that all relevant Egyptian authorities are providing the necessary assistance and facilities to care for those injured.
He also affirmed that the authorities are working to complete the procedures required to transfer the bodies of the Jordanian victims to Jordan.
For his part, Ayman Safadi expressed Jordan’s sincere condolences to Egypt, its government and people, as well as to the families of the Egyptian citizens who lost their lives in the accident.
The Jordanian foreign minister also conveyed his appreciation for the Egyptian government’s solidarity and co-operation during the difficult circumstances, particularly the assistance provided in following up on the condition of the injured and facilitating the transfer of the victims’ bodies to Jordan.
