Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel Aaty held talks on Thursday with MP Mohamed Abu Hemila, Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Arab Affairs Committee, to discuss ways to strengthen the mechanisms of joint Arab action and advanceefforts that safeguard Egypt’s national interests and regional stability.

Minister Abdel Aaty underscored the Foreign Ministry’s close cooperation with Parliament and its committees, stressing the strategic importance of the Arab sphere as Egypt’s core security depth. He highlighted the ongoing coordination with Arab partners to confront mounting regional challenges and reinforce solidarity amid fast‑moving developments and crises.

The minister reviewed efforts to deepen bilateral ties with Arab states, emphasising the role of parliamentary diplomacy and friendship groups in building stronger institutional links with Arab legislatures. He reiterated the fundamentals of Egypt’s foreign policy, including respect for state sovereignty, rejection of external interference in Arab affairs, and the promotion of economic and investment cooperation among Arab nations.

For his part, Abu Hemila affirmed the committee’s commitment to continued collaboration with the Foreign Ministry to support Egypt’s priorities in the Arab arena. He stressed the Parliament’s role in safeguarding Egyptian and Arab national security against current challenges, while contributing effectively to advancing Egypt’s foreign policy objectives.
