Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdel-Aati, met with Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Engineer Randa El-Menshawy, on Wednesday to strengthen coordination between state institutions and support national development efforts.
The meeting focused on improving cooperation between the two ministries to enhance services provided to Egyptian expatriates. Both ministers discussed ways to develop joint initiatives and improve service quality through better integration between the Foreign Ministry and the Housing Ministry’s development programmes.
Minister Abdel-Aati reviewed the ongoing efforts to improve communication with Egyptians overseas, including the use of digital platforms and smart applications. These tools aim to make it easier for citizens abroad to access government services and receive quick responses to their inquiries. He also highlighted events and initiatives designed to strengthen ties between expatriates and their home country.
A key topic was the joint initiative “Your Home in Egypt,” which provides housing opportunities for Egyptian expatriates. The initiative aims to help them own property in Egypt, strengthen their connection to the country, and encourage investment in the local real estate market.
The two ministers also discussed the important role of Egyptian companies in Africa, particularly in construction and infrastructure projects. They noted that these companies have achieved strong success and reflect Egypt’s expertise. They also support the country’s efforts to expand economic and development cooperation with African nations.
Both sides emphasised their commitment to continued coordination to support African countries and to develop joint initiatives that make it easier for Egyptian expatriates to access government services. They also stressed the importance of encouraging expatriates to participate in national projects, attract more investment, and support sustainable development goals.
