Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel Aaty engaged in a series of high-level discussions with his counterparts from the United States, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey.
Minister Abdel Aaty spoke over the phone with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. He also met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Evian.
The talks focused on regional developments following the announcement of an agreement reached between the United States and Iran. The ministers also discussed the future of security arrangements in the Middle East and the guiding principles for these frameworks in the coming phase.
