Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation, and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdel-Aati, inspected on Tuesday the dedicated task force established within the Ministry’s Consular Sector to closely monitor the situation of Egyptian citizens across the region, including Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, and Lebanon.

The visit comes within the framework of continuous follow-up on the rapidly evolving developments and ongoing military escalation in the region, said the Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Tamim Khallf.

During the inspection, the minister reviewed the operational protocols of the central operations room, as well as coordination and communication mechanisms between Egyptian embassies and consulates and members of the Egyptian community abroad.

He underscored the importance of mobilising all available resources to ensure comprehensive care and support for Egyptian nationals, with particular attention to those stranded in several countries, and to facilitate their safe and orderly return to Egypt.

Dr Abdel-Aati further directed all Egyptian diplomatic and consular missions to maintain round-the-clock monitoring of citizens’ situations through dedicated hotlines, ensuring prompt responses to inquiries, effective handling of requests, and the provision of necessary consular assistance and services.

During the visit, the minister received a detailed briefing on the task force’s efforts, including its response mechanisms to citizens’ inquiries.

The central hotline — activated at the onset of recent events — has been handling more than 2,000 inquiries daily, in addition to the numerous requests received and promptly addressed by Egyptian missions abroad.
