The first charter flight arrived to the southern ancient tourist city of Luxor from France early in the morning on Sunday.
France resumed charter flights to the southern ancient city in July 2020.
The staff of the General Authority for Tourism Promotion received the incoming tourists at Luxor International airport and offered them token gifts.
Around 178 French tourists were on board of the plane that arrived from France yesterday, Eman Mahmoud, the head of the Central Administration for Domestic Tourism at the authority, said.
She added that her authority staff also gave the incoming tourists printed materials about other tourist destinations in Egypt.
Mahmoud noted that there would be a charter flight from France to Luxor every week until November.
Luxor received on Saturday the first charter flight from Spain, following the European country’s resumption of flights to the city.
The flight, which arrived from the Spanish capital of Madrid, contained 114 tourists.
