Egyptian President of the State Council Mohamed Mahmoud Hossam el Din said on Wednesday that 98 female judges will assume work Saturday at the State Council, in the first sitting of any woman as a judge on the bench of the council’s courts.

The female judges, who were appointed pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 446 of 2021, will be able to access the courts’ benches and assume duties within the formation of the council’s courts as state commissioners, he said.

They will be also allowed to preside over preparatory hearings and make sure that all documents necessary for pleadings are complete, Hossam el Din added.
