Assistant Egyptian Prime Minister, Randa el-Minshawi, paid a visit on Sunday to the el-Hawatam area in Fayoum.
The area is being upgraded within the national project for the development of the capitals of the nation’s governorates.
The project is implemented as per the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
El-Minshawi expected the national project for the development of the capitals of the governorates to have a positive impact on people living in the areas being developed and raise the quality of life in these areas.
“The project will have an urban and social impact,” el-Minshawi said.
She revealed that half a million new flats would be established within the project across Egypt.
These flats, she said, would suit the financial status of different income groups.
El-Minshawi noted that the new flats are also being constructed within the ‘Housing for All Egyptians’ initiative.
During her tour in el-Hawatam, el-Minshawi inspected some of the residential buildings being constructed in the area.
She entered one of the flats that have already been finished. This flat should function as a model for other flats to be constructed in the area.
She said 71% of required works in the area have already been completed.
The new buildings are constructed over 11.5 feddans (acres).
Fourteen residential buildings are being constructed in the area. These buildings are expected to include 1,100 flats, each of which would be 87 square metres.
The area is also due to contain 60 shops of different sizes as well as multiple services for its residents as well as parking lots.
