Chief Executive Officer of the Social Fund for Development, Neveen Gamea, said on Sunday that her fund is keen on enhancing the productivity and capabilities of small enterprises.
The fund does this, the minister said, on the road to covering the needs of the local market and exporting production surpluses to other countries.
She added at the signing of the Step-by-Step Export Training Project Agreement that state authorities implement an aspiring strategy to market the products of entrepreneurs abroad.
“We do this through co-operation with many major international trading platforms,” the minister said.
She added that the fund works to benefit from the expertise and capabilities of these plat forms in the export of the products of small projects electronically or through the participation of the fund in international exhibitions.
The minister added that the fund also works to give the opportunity for small entrepreneurs to showcase their products abroad and conclude export contracts.
The Step-by-Step Export Training Project will be implemented by the fund in co-operation with the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation and the Foreign Trade Training Centre of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The project is also sponsored by the Arab League.
Attending the signing of the project agreement, along with the minister, was Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit and International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation CEO Hani Sonbol.
Minister Gamea said the signing of the agreement comes within the framework of state efforts to raise exports as well as coordination with all relevant institutions to support small enterprises.
