European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she agrees with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on saying no to any attempted forced displacement of Palestinians, adding that she shares his stance on the need for a political horizon based on a two-state solution.
“I discussed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza with President Sisi,” she said on her X account.
“I thanked Egypt for its a key role in providing and facilitating humanitarian aid to vulnerable Palestinians,” she added.
“To strengthen our relations we are working together on a strategic, comprehensive partnership that is mutually beneficial,” she said.
“It would build on the longstanding relations between the EU and Egypt and take forward the Partnership Priorities agreed together last year,” she added.
