Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptians Abroad Badr Abdel-Aati stressed the importance of maintaining the diplomatic track and prioritising dialogue as essential means of preserving regional security and stability, safeguarding the interests of the region’s peoples and ensuring the continued freedom of international navigation.
The remarks came during a telephone conversation held on Sunday between Minister Abdel-Aati and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaia Kallas, within the framework of ongoing consultations on regional developments.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Tamim Khallaf stated that the call included an exchange of views on the progress of US-Iranian negotiations and the latest regional developments.
During the conversation, Minister Abdel-Aati briefed the European official on Egypt’s intensive diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in co-ordination with regional partners.
He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting political and diplomatic approaches to resolving crises and preventing further escalation in the region.For her part, EU High Representative Kallas praised Egypt’s role in supporting efforts to contain regional tensions and promote stability.
She also reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to maintaining close consultation and coordination with Egypt during the coming period, reflecting the strength of the strategic partnership and close relations between Egypt and the European Union.
