CAIRO – Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Committee on Foreign Affairs Thierry Mariani has praised progress achieved in Egypt under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Speaking in a phone-in with Sada El Balad Channel Wednesday, Mariani also underscored continued efforts exerted by Sisi to reach a ceasefire in Gaza.
Mariani congratulated Sisi on his re-election as president of Egypt in a democratic vote.
He also congratulated Sisi on receiving the Champion of Peace award of 2024 from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) for his efforts to maintain security and peace in the Arab World, Africa and the Middle East.
