Emigration Ministry announces Civil Aviation Ministry’s approval of request to provide direct line between “Cairo-Seoul “, “Cairo-Los Angeles”

Egypt’s Ministry of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs confirmed the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s approval of request to provide a direct line between “Cairo-Seoul ” and “Cairo-Los Angeles”.

In a statement Thursday, the ministry said the step came in response to requests of Egyptian community in South Korea and Japan during their meeting with Ambassador Soha Gendi – as part of the “An Hour with the Minister” – initiative, where she submitted a proposal to the Cabinet and the Ministry of Civil Aviation that included requests of the Egyptian communities in every country, including South Korea and Japan, of a direct flight line between Cairo/Seoul and the possibility of connecting this line to the Cairo/Tokyo line, as well as increasing the number of flights between Tokyo and Cairo, as well as increasing the number of flights between Tokyo and Cairo..

“An Hour with the Minister” initiative aims to provide an opportunity to meet directly with Egyptians abroad and get acquainted with their needs and inquiries.

The proposal was studied by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, which in turn confirmed that it responded to the requests of Egyptians abroad, as it is planned to operate the (Cairo – Seoul – Cairo) line within the EgyptAir plan with three weekly flights, with the start of operation being in In 2025/2026, until the implementation of EgyptAir’s fleet expansion plan begins, the statement said.

As for the request of Egyptians residing in US regarding the necessity of having an airline (Cairo – Los Angeles), the Ministry of Aviation said it will be implemented as of 2025 upon the arrival of the new models, according to the statement.

For her part, the minister thanked Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas, for his quick response to the ministry’s requests from Egyptians abroad related to the provision of airlines in a number of countries, which reflects great coordination and cooperation between ministries and state institutions to serve citizens abroad.

The Minister said everything proposed by Egyptians abroad is given great attention, as the Ministry is a main supporter of all Egyptians abroad, highly keen on listening to their various ideas and suggestions and works to put all plans into action, in cooperation with various ministries and state institutions, as Egyptians abroad are key partners in the development process.
