CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Emigration and Expatriates Affairs Soha Gendy asserted that the Ministry is working on implementing a strategy of constant communication with Egyptians abroad via launching seminars under the motto of “an hour with the minister” with the aim of knowing their needs and receiving their proposals and demands.
The minister’s remarks were made at a Zoom meeting with 35 figures of the Egyptian community in Canada to get briefed on their conditions and listen to their ideas and proposals along with making links between the community members and their homeland in the coming phase.
In a statement released Monday by the Emigration Ministry, Gendy appreciated the efforts exerted by Egyptian expatriates especially the organization of an event that aims at preserving the Egyptian identity along with their influential participation in the Canadian society which has clearly contributed to enhancing Egyptian-Canadian relations at all levels.
She also noted that the Egyptian expatriates’ relations with their homeland figured high on the agenda of the Ministry’s priorities, noting that the recommendations of the third edition Egyptian entities abroad conference have been referred to Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli.
Gendy said the recommendations comprised establishing an Egyptian shareholding company for Egyptians abroad with the objective of participating in the national investments, noting that executive steps in this regard are underway, the statement said.
She said bilateral meetings will be held between the ministries and bodies concerned to assess all possible facilitations that could be offered to put into effect such recommendation, added the statement.
The minister was also keen on briefing the Egyptian expatriates on the Ministry’s plan to launch the first electronic application that offer all-out services to Egyptians abroad in the various world countries. The application will be operational in the coming phase, she asserted.
